(From User Guide) The purpose of this document is to provide information on the STEVAL-ISA081V1 switched mode power supply (SMPS) demonstration board. The STEVAL-ISA081V1 is an isolated SMPS capable of delivering a 12 W output over a wide input voltage range. It is designed for a mains application focused on providing a cost-effective and space-saving solution.

The STEVAL-ISA044V6 demonstration board is based on the ST1S10 device assembled in a DFN package. The ST1S10 is a step-down DC-DC converter with the inhibit function optimized for powering high voltages in LCD applications and low voltages in digital-core HDD applications.

The TPS54327 is a single, adaptive on-time, D-CAP2™-mode, synchronous buck converter requiring a very low external component count. The D-CAP2™ control circuit is optimized for low-ESR output capacitors such as POSCAP, SP-CAP, or ceramic types and features fast transient response with no external compensation. The switching frequency is internally set at a nominal 700 kHz.

The TPS6208x synchronous switched mode converters are based on DCS™ Control (Direct Control with Seamless transition into Power Save Mode). This is an advanced regulation topology that combines the advantages of hysteretic and voltage mode control.

This evaluation board is an offline, wide-range, VIPer22A-E dual-output power supply with a switching frequency of 60 kHz and is set up for secondary regulation with an optocoupler. One output delivers 5 V at 1 A and a second output delivers 12 V at 0.42 A, making for a total output power of 10 W.
