Laird's RM186/191 series of modules offer a powerful, convenient solution for long-range Enterprise IoT (EIoT) deployments. Laird innovatively combines Bluetooth v4.1 with LoRaWAN™, the emerging standard in low-power wide-area networks (LPWAN), into one module. The RM1xx modules aggregate and transmit data from Bluetooth Smart (BLE) devices and sensors over LoRa to gateways as far as 15 km (~10 miles) away. This bridges the personal area network to the wide area network in a unique way. The RM186/191 will be LoRa Alliance certified and fully interoperable with any LoRaWAN-adherent gateway.

- Combines sub-1 GHz LoRa and 2.4 GHz BLE technologies on one module:
- Semtech SX1272: 868 MHz (EU) / 915 MHz (North America)
- Long range (circa 10 miles), optimal for low-power IoT applications
- Output power up to +15 dBm, Rx sensitivity up to -135 dBm
- Nordic nRF51822: 2.4 GHz BT v4.1 with ARM® Cortex®-M0
- Easily connect with peripherals and sensors via BLE or hard-wired connections (UART, SPI, I2C, GPIO, ADC)
- Integrated LoRa (class A) and BLE (central - GATT client) stacks enable hostless operation of RM1xx
- Semtech SX1272: 868 MHz (EU) / 915 MHz (North America)
- Supports simultaneous LoRa and BLE connections
- smartBASIC for rapid application development
- Fully embedded LoRa and BLE stacks, one vendor approach for everything
- Robust security on either public or private LoRa networks, with three layers of keys and AES-128 encryption
